Nine-day Novena with St. Anthony of the Desert Day Nine

“For as the new heavens and the new earth

    which I will make

shall remain before me, says the Lord;

    so shall your descendants and your name remain.

 From new moon to new moon,

    and from sabbath to sabbath,

all flesh shall come to worship before me,

says the Lord.”

 

Isaiah 66:22-23

 

“I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.  He who is a hireling and not a shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees; and the wolf snatches them and scatters them.  He flees because he is a hireling and cares nothing for the sheep.  I am the good shepherd; I know my own and my own know me, as the Father knows me and I know the Father; and I lay down my life for the sheep.  And I have other sheep, that are not of this fold; I must bring them also, and they will heed my voice. So, there shall be one flock, one shepherd.”

Today’s Meditation

 

God knows when our lives will end. What we did or fail to do in this life, will come to account when we reach the throne of judgement when we die. If we say we are follower of Jesus, then our lives need to be a true reflection of his way. God created all of us to serve and to love him back. No one is outside of God’s graces. Either we choose to accept the Mercy of God or reject God and take the punishment that is prepared for the devil and his fallen angels. We need to quiet our minds and listen to God’s holy words.

Prayer

 

 

St. Anthony, you have fought the good fight in this world. Your whole life was dedicated to the service of God and to bring the best way to live out the Gospel to the Land of Egypt.  God said he will make you known to the whole world. Let me be a simple person, reject the world and offer all my time, talent and treasure for the salvation of souls. To beg Jesus to save my brothers and sisters from the brink of falling into hell. Pray for my salvation and the salvation of the whole world. Pray for us before the Throne of Jesus Christ. Amen!
