Nine-day Novena with St. Anthony of the Desert Day Eight

“I called on thy name, O Lord,

    from the depths of the pit;

thou didst hear my plea, ‘Do not close

    thine ear to my cry for help!’[a]

 Thou didst come near when I called on thee;

    thou didst say, ‘Do not fear!’

Lamentations 3:55-57

“and behold, a leper came to him and knelt before him, saying, “Lord, if you will, you can make me clean.”  And he stretched out his hand and touched him, saying, “I will; be clean.” And immediately his leprosy was cleansed. And Jesus said to him, “See that you say nothing to any one; but go, show yourself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, for a proof to the people.”

Matthew 8:2-4

Today’s Meditation

When we come to the Lord in prayer, we need to have a little faith. Sometimes, it is hard to have that “tiny mustard seed”. Never give up in praying for that miracle in your life. It took seventeen years for St. Augustine to convert because of his mother, St. Monica praying for his personal salvation. God answer prayer in three ways. Yes, not or not at this time. He will never answer a request if it leads to our damnation. Look towards the Kingdom and he will give you what you truly need for your salvation.

(Pray for your Personal Intention Here)

Say One Our Father, Three Hail Mary and One Glory Be, to Honor the Most Holy Trinity and asking God to delivery you of whatever is preventing you from living a higher level of Holiness.

Prayer

St. Anthony, you fasted and prayed many times throughout your life. You taught your monks to rely on God and not on the things of this world. Help me to desire God above anything else. Pray for me!
