Nine-day Novena with St. Anthony of the Desert Day Two

“Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,

that you keep away from any brother who is living in idleness and not

in accord with the tradition that you received from us.”

2 Thessalonians 3:6

“And Jesus said to them, A prophet is not without honor, except in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house.

And he could do no mighty work there, except that he laid his hands upon a few sick people and healed them.

And he marveled because of their unbelief.”

Mark 6:4-6

Today’s Meditation

In today’s world, there are many who say they are Christian by words, but not in their personal actions. Like the pharisee and scribes, they glorify themselves and not God. St. Paul gave his follower a lesson that they need to trust in the teaching of the church and not follow the one who don’t walk in the light. Jesus is the light of the world. Let us not reject Jesus as he is calling us to a higher level of holiness. Remember the promise that Jesus told St. Peter that “On this rock, I will build my church, and the gates of hell will never prevail against it”.

(Pray for your Personal Intention Here)

Say One Our Father, Three Hail Mary and One Glory Be, to Honor the Most Holy Trinity and asking God to delivery you of whatever is preventing you from living a higher level of Holiness.

Prayer

Almighty and ever living God, grant me the grace to shatter the hardness of my heart. Help me in my lack of faith. Grant me the mercy to truly believe that Jesus is the Christ, The Son of the Living God. Let me not reject Jesus in my life, but like the good thief on the cross, “Jesus remember me, when you come into your kingdom”.

St. Anthony, a loving disciple for Christ Jesus, pray for me!
